My name is Nicole Seymour and I'm a highly qualified and certified secondary educator with two Bachelor of Arts degrees in English and certification endorsements in both English (BA) and Speech (BD). Six years ago I came into the field of education by aiding school districts in their marketing efforts and have helped several school districts increase enrollment and community engagement through the use of keenly put together social media sites and marketing campaigns. I quickly fell in love with the students and community I served and this work prompted me to get my second degree. Soon after receiving this degree I was able to put it to work serving as an English teacher to sixth and eighth grade students at Mt. Morris Middle School in Mt. Morris, Michigan. Here I taught reading and writing, as well as served as an active member on the school leadership council. This experience has been invaluable to me and has really solidified my love of teaching, and working with others to help better the future for our students.
When I'm not in the classroom, I serve as a marketing consultant for small businesses and schools. I've been able to gain this experience through work within the field of broadcast television as an account executive, research director, and community promotions coordinator for various Michigan FOX and ABC affiliates. Staying true to working within the community, I currently work as a freelance journalist and photographer for the Petoskey News-Review, Charlevoix Courier, and Home Life magazine. In my spare time I serve as a volunteer at the Little Traverse Bay Humane Society, enjoy the great outdoors, and love to soak up all Northern Michigan has to offer with my husband and two children. *All photos on this site have been taken at various Northern Michigan locations and are are my own. |
